2. Balansa, B.: - Collected the type of Placidiopsis tenella. Material collected in 1852 and 1853 in Oran is kept in GE, Helsinki (H-NYL) and L.

3. Durieu, M. C.: - French collector. Leptogium ferax Dur. & Mont. is based on material collected by Durieu near Algiers in 1840. The type is located in Helsinki, Finland (H-Nyl). The type of Ramalina duriaei has been collected by Durieu but has never been located. It might be located "in a herbarium in Italy" (Krog & James 1977).

4. Flagey, C.: - Collected the type of Sarcogyne algerica. Exsiccate Lichenes Algeriensis.

5. Haluwyn, C. van: - French lichenologist. A collection from 1986 is mentioned in Etayo & Mayrhofer (2003: 111).

6. Stenholm, N.: - Swedish lichenologist. Collected in 1892 fide Tibell (1999).
