Acarospora badiofusca (Nyl.) Th. Fr.

Basionym: Lecanora badiofusca Nyl., Herb. Mus. Fenn.: 110 (1859).

 

Thallus: crustose, of dispersed or contiguous areolae to 3 mm broad, grayish or reddish brown, dull or shiny, sometimes rugulose; underside pale brown to dark at the margin. Apothecia (Thomson 1997: 20).

Photobiont: Data lacking.

Chemistry: Thallus K-, C-, P-, I-, proper exciple and hypothecium as well as hymenium I+ blue (Thomson 1997: 20). No lichen substances.

Ecology: On calciferous and silicious rocks, usually on trickle surfaces (Thomson 1997: 20).

Distribution: Bipolar (Galloway 2007: 6). Arctic alpine.
