Henssen 17744b, (Lichenes cyanophili et fungi saxicolae exsiccati 47a [as Anema cernohorskyi], H holotype, BM isotype) (note that 47b is a topotype collected later by Henssen & Jahns].

Type locality: Germany, Hessen, Reg.-Bez. Gießen, Landkreis Limburg-Weilburg, Oberlahn, Arfurt, 3 km east of Runkel, "Grünstein" scarp, on seeping water strip, 200 m, 30 October 1964, A. Henssen 17744b, 5515/3, Henssen: Lichenes cyanophili et fungi saxicolae exsiccati 47a [as Anema cernohorskyi] (H - holotype, BM 001097618 - isotype).

Type locality coordinates: 50°24'19"N, 8°9'18"E; 50.405278°, 8.155°.

Molecular barcode: Data lacking.

Thallus: crustose, shiny, not pruinose forming effuse black-brown crusts. Squamules up to 3 mm diameter, shield-like rosettes, frequently clearly lobed on the edges, densely packed and often isidiate, isidia spherical. Pycnoascocarps 0.5 - 0.8 mm diameter, concentrated in the centre of the rosettes. Asci with (4-) 8 ascospores, 8 - 13 - 17 / 6 - 8 - 11 µm. Conidiomata unknown (Jørgensen et al. 2013: 2).

Photobiont: Single-celled cyanobacterium.

Chemistry: No lichen substances.

Ecology: On open, vertical or steeply inclined, usually calcareous but also base rich rock surfaces, often in seapage tracks. Prefers warm and sunny habitats, but appears to have a broader ecological amplitude than other members of the Lichinaceae (Jørgensen 1988, Jørgensen et al. 2013: 2).

Note: Arfurt is situated 3, not 30 Kilometer east of the town center of Runkel. This error is alreay present at the label of the holotype.
