Protologue type data: Type: Canary Islands. La Palma, 8.5 km N of Santa Cruz, Barranco La Galga, laurisilva forest on a steep slope, on a vertical shaded volcanic outcrop, c. 500 m, V. 1999, P. P. G. van den Boom 22444 [LG holotype; hb. van den Boom isotype].

Type locality: Spain, Canary Islands, La Palma, 8.5 km north of Santa Cruz, Barranco La Galga, laurisilva forest on a steep slope, on a vertical shaded volcanic outcrop, c. 500 m, May 1999, P. P. G. van den Boom 22444 (LG - holotype; van den Boom - isotype).

Description: Lichen. Thallus pale green-grey to brown, sometimes pale grey, thin (less than 0.3 mm thick), smooth or sometimes slightly rugose, typically rimose in well-developed specimens. Prothallus absent or whitish. Photobiont belonging to the Chlorococcaceae. Apothecia always present, 0.4-1.3.
