Description: Lichen. Thallus crustose, epiphyllous, very thin, continuous, c. 2 cm diam., granular leprose, expanded, dull ochraceous, with yellow-green goniocystangia; the thallus granules built of goniocysts. Apothecia small, dispersed, roundish, 0.25-0.3 mm diam., 0.2 mm tall, slightly constricted at the base; margin slightly raised above the disc, blackish brown to brown, glossy; disc plane or later convex, brown. Excipulum relatively thick, up to 85 µm, towards the surface paraplectenchymatous, brownish, otherwise plectenchymatous. Subhymenium 20-30 µm tall, brownish. Hymenium 45 µm tall, hyaline, epihymenium brown. Paraphyses 1.5 µm thick, apices slightly swollen, brown. Asci 8-spores, apical structure belonging to the Lecanora type s.str. Ascospores spirally contorted in asci, acicular, transversely 5-6-septate, when free curved or spirally contorted, 35-45 x 1.8-2 µm. Pycnidia unknown (Lumbsch & Vezda 1992: 22).
Photobiont: Data lacking.
Chemistry: No lichen substances. Unfortunately the type specimen is too small to allow chemical analyses (Lumbsch & Vezda 1992: 24).
Ecology: On the leaves of several plants in the Laurus forest of Tenerife (Lumbsch & Vezda 1992: 24).
Distribution type: Canary Islands: Tenerife, Gomera; Catalonia.
Taxonomy: Data lacking.
Note: When the species was described from Tenerife (Lumbsch & Vezda 1992: 22), it was simultaneously recorded from Gomera. In 2006 it was found in Catalonia (Llop & Gómez-Bolea 2006
