Thallus: crustose, endo- or episubstratal, rimose or rimose areolate, with areoles of 0.25 - 0.45 mm in diameter. Apothecia single, sessile with a constricted base, average diameter 0.3 - 0.4 mm, maximum diameter 0.6 - 0.65 mm, disc orange-brown, weakly to strongly convex, margin lacking from the beginning. Exciple colourless, but with orange-brown granules near hymenium, laterally 45 - 55 µm, basally 100 - 120 µm wide, J - pale violet. Hypothecium and subhymenium colourless, 60 - 90 µm high. Epihymenium ochre, orange-brown to khaki, finely granular, 10 - 15 µm high but streaking deeply into the hymenium. Hymenium basally colourless, apically orange-brown to khaki, 60 µm high. Spores colourless, 3-septate, rarely eseptate or 1-septate, (14.0-) 16.0 - 16.3 (-19.0) x (5.5-) 6.2- 6.6 (7.5) µm (Printzen 2002: 37).
