Thallus: prostrate to decumbent, to 20 cm long, dark olivaceous brown to black, shiny. Branching irregular, sparse, main branches 0.3- 2 mm diam., often twisted and foveolate. Soralia absent or sparse, tuberculate. Pseudocyphellae absent. Apothecia unknown. Pycnidia unknown.
