[515 m], 47°10'48"N, 100°59'42"W, on old concrete foundation, 5.6.2007, M.K. Advaita 6100 (MIN, holotype; ASU, GZU, KANU, LD, NY, and others, isotypes, to be issued in Teloschistaceae Exsicati).

Thallus: crustose, light gray (Pale Smoke Gray), areolate, to 190 µm thick; areoles slightly convex, to 0.5 mm diam., contiguous or dispersed, sorediate on upper surface, soredia dark blue-gray, 20-35 µm; thallus cortex 15-30 µm thick, with granules insoluble in K. Apothecia sessile on areoles, to 0.5 mm diam., flat, with thin margin; disks dark brown to black (Fuscous to Black), margin often lightly pruinose; epihymenium gray to light brown, 85-120 µm, apothecial margins with algae, thin proper exciple with elongate cells, no round cells below hymenium; paraphyses with 1-2 slightly swollen cells, with few or no branches, asci 8-spored;
Ascospores 15.5-17.0 x 7.0-8.5 µm, isthmus less that 2 µm, often incomplete or poorly formed. Pycnidia immersed, black, internally K+ violet; conidia ellipsoid, 2.4-3.0 x 1.2 µm. (Wetmore 2009: 382-383).

Chemistry: Thallus K-, C-, I-; cortex weakly K+, cN+, HCl+ violet; surface of soredia K+ violet; epihymenium K+ violet, cN+ (Thalloidima Green) (Wetmore 2009: 382-383).

Ecology: This species usually grows on concrete but has also been found on calcareous rocks, and rarely on non-calcareous sandstone.
