Cladonia strepsilis (Ach.) Grognot

Pl. Crypt. SaƓne-et-Loire: 85 (1863).

Basionym: Baeomyces strepsilis Ach., Methodus, Suppl.: 52 (1803).

 

Type locality: Sweden (H-ACH 1723A - lectotype; ?UPS - isolectotype). Lectotypified by Ahti (1993: 95).

Note: The authors of this taxon are cited as (Ach.) Vain. by Wirth et al. (2011: xx) and Wirth et al. (2013) in contrary to Index Fungorum, Esslinger (2014 version 19) and Scholz (2000: 78). Teuvo Ahti, while working on the "Names in Current Use" List of the genus Cladonia, found, that the combination of Grognot was published in 1863, while that of Vainio is from 1894 (Ahti pers. mitt. 4.8.2014).
