Type locality: Morocco, Ifrane, colline au sud de la Station de Biologie Végétale, vers 1700 m, sur bois de cèdre, Werner (BC-h Werner isotypus).

Description: Lichen. Thallus crustose, areolate, 0.1-0.15 mm thick, pale yellowish to greyish with age, without isidia and soredia, hypothallus line not clearly perceptible around thallus margins. Areoles irregularly shaped to more or less polygonal, 0.3-1.2 Data lacking.

Chemistry: Thallus K+ yellow turning red, C-, KC+ yellow, P+ orange yellowish, (norstictic acid by TLC). Chemical analysis was performed from acetone extracts by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) according to standardized procedures (White & James 1985). Excipulum with pigment D Scheidegger 1993), K+ brown-yellowish, N- (Burgaz & Sarrión 1995: 307).
