Thallus: 1-3 cm im Durchmesser, grauweiß, gelbgrau, gelb, geschlossen, leicht rissig, fein warzig bis granulär, mit roten Pigmenten (vereinzelt bis reichlich), 50-70 µm dick, UV+ lachsfarben, orange; obere und untere Rinde 10-15 µm dick; Rand nicht differenziert ausgebildet oder dunkelgrau bis schwarz. Apothecien 0.3-0.4 (0.5).

Photobiont: Data lacking.

Chemistry: Thiophanic acid, unknown red pigment, traces of 3-0-methylthiophanic acid, arthothelin, atranorin, dissectic acid (Kalb & Elix 1998 by HPLC). Dissecti acid, xxx (Marbach 2000: 244).

Ecology: On bark or wood, coastal up to 800 meter.
