Type locality: Mozambique. Data lacking.

Thallus: greyish-white, thin, matt or slightly shiny, continuous, hypophloeodal, K+ faint yellow, Pd-. Ascomata lirellate, elongate or oblong with rounded ends, divided so as to appear + lobate, 1-1.5(-2) x 0.2-0.3 mm; labia raised, powdery, not sulcate, wide apart exposing a darker, pruinose disc; exciple not carbonized, composed of a mixture of bark cells and thallus. Hymenium colourless, I-, 60-75 µm high. Hypothecium thin, yellowish, directly above the bark cells. Paraphyses straight, unbranched, capitate, c. 2 µm in diam. Asci clavate-obovate, thin-walled with a slightly thickened apex, 40-45 x 10-12 µm, 8-spored, ascospores arranged irregularly. Ascospores colourless, I-, 7-septate, 20-22.5 x 5-6 µm (David & Hawksworth 1995: 97).

Photobiont: Data lacking.

Chemistry: Thallus K+ faint yellow, Pd-. Lichen substances unknown.

Ecology: On bark.

Distribution Type: Mozambique and Mauritius.
