Gyalecta derivata (Nyl.) H. Olivier

Thallus: crustaceous, thin, continuous, furrowed or powdery granular, which varies from grey to greenish- or brownish-grey. Apothecia half immersed in the thallus and scattered singly, relatively abundant, yellowish-brown to pale pinkish-brown, with a very thin brown line towards the edge of the disc, 0.2 - 0.4 mm diam. Epithecium brownish. Hypothecium colourless, 30 - 60 µm high. Hymenium hyaline, 90 - 115 µm high, and consisting of paraphysis with a thickened upper cell, 4 - 6.5 µm wide which is surrounded by brownish crystals. Ascus 70 - 95 / 10 - 16 µm. Ascospores fusiform, with 6 - 9 transversal septa and 1 - 2, occasionally 3, longitudinal septa in some middle cells, 12 - 30 / 3- 7 µm (Andrés & López de Silanes 2002: 262).
