Type: Bolivia, Depto. La Paz, Prov. Abel Iturralde, Tumupasa, estimated c. 150 m, 16.7.1901, R. S. Williams 2308 (H).

Thallus: crustose, minute verrucosus + continuous, c. 0.3 mm thick, not soredious. Apothecia sessile, partly constricted at the base, 0.5 - 1.5 mm in diam., disc zinnoberrot, rarely faintly pruinose, margin of thalline colour, mostly faintly crenulate, partly körnig by hervorbrechende medullar crystals. Spores 8 in the asci, 8 - 14 - celled, often faintly sigmoid curved, 40 - 70 - 75 / 5 - 6 - 7 µm. Spermatia type II, 5 - 7 / 1 - 1.2 µm.

Algae: Green alga.

Chemistry: Lichexanthon, haematommon, no atranorin by TLC.

Ecology: Corticolous on bark of Cinchona.
