Type locality: Spain, Canary Islands, Fuerteventura, north of Betancuria, south side of road to mirador, southwest exposed rocky slope, on north facing vertical volcanic outcrop, 550 m, 3 March 2001, P. & B. van den Boom 26180 (TFC - holotype; van den Boom - isotype).

Description: Lichen. Thallus crustose, effuse, rimose-areolate or weakly areolate, thin, up to 0.3 mm thick; areoles 0.2-0.5 mm diam.; prothallus not observed; upper surface white, dull, with a somewhat powdery appearance, no cortex differntiated. .
