Thallus: foliose, adnate to loosely adnate, 7 - 15 cm in diameter, lobes contiguous to overlapping and imbricate, apically rounded to sublinear, short, 2,5 - 6 mm wide. Upper surface pale greenish grey to whitish grey,shiny, finely foveolate, becoming reticulately cracked ... (Molina et al. 2004: 48)

Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Chemistry: Cortex K+ yellow; medulla K+ yellow then red, C-, PD+ red-orange; containing atranorin, chloroatranorin, salazinic acid, consalazinic acid, and protocetraric acid (trace) (Molina et al. 2004: 48).
