Type locality: New Zealand, North Island, New Plymouth, Burgess Park, on tree trunk in remnant forest, xxx m, date, J. Elix 4645 (CHR - holotype, CBG - isotype).

Description: Lichen. Foliose, laciniate at the center; upper surface rimose-flaking to rugose and daytylate, lower margin bare, dark reddish brown (Hale & Fletcher 1990: 26).

Photobiont: Green alga.

Chemistry: Atranorin, chloratranorin, salazinic acid, protocetraric acid (+ trace) (Hale & Fletcher 1990: 26).

Ecology: On bark.
