Protolog: Thallus corticola ad ramos, griseus. Lobi 0.8-1.5 cm lati, ciliis 0.5-2-2.5 mm longis, superne emaculati. Medulla pigmentis croceis vel subroseis. Soralia isidiaque nulla. Apothecia submarginalia ad stipites inflatos, margine thallino dentato vel lobato, ciliato, disco imperforato. Ascospori 27-32 x 15-18 µm. Pycnidia numerosa, conidia non visa. Pigmenta ignota, acida ignota, et atranorinum continens.

Molecular barcode: Data lacking.

Thallus: foliose, loosely attached, pale grey. Lobes 0.8-1.5 cm broad, rounded, entire or weakly crenate, ciliate, cilia 0.5-2-2.5 mm long, simple or branched. Upper side emaculate. Medulla pigmented yellow to pink. Underside shiny, black with a broad, brown, naked marginal zone, rhizines sparse. Soralia and isidia absent. Apothecia submarginal, stipitate on swollen stipes, thalline margin dentate-lobate, ciliate, disc imperforate. Ascospores thick-walled, 27-32 x 15-18 µm. Pycnidia numerous, conidia unknown (Krog & Swinscow 1983).

Photobiont: Data lacking.

Chemistry: Undetermined pigments, two undetermined substances in Rf classes 6:5:6, atranorin. Medulla K+ reddish yellow, C-, KC+ orange, PD+ orange (t.l.c.) (Krog & Swinscow 1983).

Ecology: Corticolous on twigs.
