Protolog: Anatomia thalli et apotheciorum P. lucidae similis, praecipue differt thallo albido-viridulo, apotheciis dilute carneis vel e violaceo brunneis; acido gyrophorico praecipue continenti.

Typus: Anglia, Cornubia occidentalis: Redruth, Todpool, Poldice Mine, 10/742.429, c. 65 m, on north-facing granitic walls of mine buildings, associated with mortar containing copper minerals, 17 May 1986, 0. W. Purvis & P. W. James (BM-holotypus; BG, E, GZU, M, UPS, US, hb Kantvilas-isotypi).

Type locality: Great Britain, Anglia, Cornwall ["Cornubia occidentalis"]: Redruth, Todpool, Poldice Mine, 10/742.429, on north-facing granitic walls of mine buildings, associated with mortar containing copper minerals, c. 65 m, 17.5.1986, 0. W. Purvis & P. W. James (BM - holotype; BG, E, GZU, M, UPS, US, hb Kantvilas - isotypes).

Barcode: Data lacking.

Thallus: leprose, to 1.5 mm thick, continuous to rimose, greenish-white, white, or bluish-white (due to copper oxalate crystals). Goniocysts c. 17-30(-40) µm diam. Photobiont (?) Trebouxia, cells 6-9 µm diam., or ellipsoid 6-12 x 7-8.5.
