Type: TYPE: U.S.A. Florida. Baker Co., Osceola National Forest, at highway rest station on south side of Route 10. On trees in cultivated space on west side of rest station, 16 June 1992, LaGreca 505 (holotype, DUKE).

Description: Thallus fruticose, pale yellow-green, usually growing singly, irregularly branched, 1.5 - 4.0 cm wide; lobes linear, flat, surfaces wrinkled, sometimes striate, 0.5 - 4.0 mm wide, with pseudocyphellae sparsely or moderately developed, round or elliptic, usually marginal; cortex irregular, 20 - 170 µm thick, medulla 40 - 190 µm thick. Apothecia numerous, usually terminal,the disk pruinose, 1 - 5 mm in diameter; spores elliptic, straight, 1-septate, 4 - 7 x 10 - 16 µm. Conidia numerous, colorless, immersed in the tips of lobes, round, 60 - 130 µm in diameter; spermatiophores irregularly branched; spermatia clubshaped, < 1.5 x 2 - 5 µm.

Chemistry: Medullary compounds variable but always present, usnic acid including 1) 4-0-methylhypoprotocetraric, 2) norbarbatic, 3) lecanoric, 4) divaricatic, or 5) stenosporic acids.
