Type:
Thallus: fruticose, 3 - 5 cm high, moderately to densely branched. Branches greenish grey, solid, bilateral, flat or more or less canaliculate, 0.2 - 1 - 2 mm wide. Pseudocyphellae mainly marginal, tuberculate. Soredia absent. Apothecia lateral, marginal, on geniculate branches, thalline exciple pseudocyphellate, occasionally laciniate. Spores straight or slightly curved, slender, 10 - 12 - 14 / 2.5 - 3 µm (Swinscow & Krop 1988: 283).
Chemistry: Salazinic acid, K + red, PD + orange, usually accompanied by cryptochlorophaeic acid (Swinscow & Krop 1988: 283).
Ecology: Corticolous on shrubs, scattered up to 1000 m alt. but not collected on the coast (Swinscow & Krop 1988: 283).
