Type: Fiji. Kambara (= Kabara) Island, bark of citrus, Salvat B.358a (holotypus-DUKE); the same, Salvat B.358b (paratypus-PC).

Thallus: Straw-colored, tufted to pendulous, to 7 cm long, repeatedly and subdichotomously branched; major branches 1 - 2 mm broad with numerous round to elliptical soralia, the largest reaching 1.5 mm maximum dimension. Outer cortex regular, 13 - 23 µm thick; inner cortex irregular, 65 - 130 µm thick; medulla lax, (90 -) 130 - 180 µm thick. Apothecia and pycnidia absent. Medulla K-, C-, KC-, PD-.

Photobiont:

Chemistry: Relative amounts: sekikaic acid (very high), homosekikaic acid (trace), 4'-0-methylnorsekikaic acid (moderate), 4'-0-demethylsekikaic acid (trace) and unidentified substances (traces) by thin-layer chromatography (TLC). Usnic acid, present only in very small amounts, was detected by TLC in only some fragments.
