Type: Peru, Lagasta (H-ACH 1801 - holotype).

Thallus: 2 - 3 cm high, densely and intricately branched. Branches greenish grey, solid, flattened, becoming terete or subterete in apical parts, 0.1 - 0.8 mm wide, weakly striate in basal parts. Soralia punctiform, lateral, on flattened branches marginal, frequently giving rise to minute branchlets, soredia farinose. Apothecia not known (Swinscow & Krog 1988: 284). ... Chemistry: Usnic acid, substances in the sekikaic agg. (Swinscow & Krog 1988: 284).

Ecology: Corticolous on twigs of trees in bushed and wooded grassland at 1000 to 1800 m altitude, fairly common (Swinscow & Krog 1988: 277).
