Ramalina pusilla Le Prév. ex Duby

Bot. Gall. 2: 614 (1830).

Synonym: Index Fungorum

Type: in insulis Stoechadem, Le Prévost (UPS - isotype). [TLC: sekikaic acid, triterpenoids].

 

Thallus: fruticose, up to 5 cm long, consisting of several irregularly branched laciniae from a well defined holdfast. Laciniae 0.8 - 4 - 6 mm broad, hollow, swollen, with scattered orbicular perforations and longitudinal cracks, grey-green, usually with numerous irregular, black patches. Soralia absent. Cortex indistinct, chondroid cylinder continuous, medulla dense. Pycnidia with black ostioles. Apothecia terminal on main and secondary branches, disc at first deeply concave, becoming flat and up to 1 cm in diameter at maturity, thalline margin sometimes blackened, spores 10 - 13 / 4 - 5 µm, mainly curved (Krog & Østhagen 1980: 287).
