Molecular barcode: Data lacking.

Thallus: squamulose, heteromerous, irregular, consisting of small thalli, up to 0.5 cm wide joining to from larger patches; each thallus with a few, more or less ascending, convex squamules, less than 0.5 mm wide. Upper surface olive-green to brown-green, more or less glossy, with paler spots developing into globular knob-like outgrowths, that later open to form cup-like soralia. Upper cortex, 20-30 µm thick, of rounded ... (Moberg 1990: 250).

Photobiont: Data lacking.

Chemistry: No lichen substances detected by TLC (Moberg 1990: 251).

Ecology: On solitary trees in rather open situation along roads, both on exposed and shaded parts of the trunks (Moberg 1990: 251).
