Thallus: distinctly foliose, rosulate, 1-1.8 cm diam., with about 2-4(-7) mm long and 1-1.5 mm wide, flat, yellow to orange-yellow lobes, which are densely branched at the ends to form smaller (0.5-0.7(-1.0) mm long and 0.2-0.5 mm wide) lobes. Upper surface epruinose. Lower surface whitish, with ca. 0.3-0.7 mm long, ca. 0.05-0.13 mm thick whitish rhizines, which are developed mostly submarginally and seldom project beyond margins, where lobes overlap or at the margins. Apothecia numerous, often dense, ca. 0.6-3.0 mm diam., constricted at the base, sometimes with whitish to yellow rhizines at the base of the excipulum; discs plane to ± concave, darker in colour than the continuous, raised margins. Hymenium ca. 80-100 µm high. Hypothecium ca. 50 µm high. Paraphyses towards the base 1.5-2.1(-2.5) µm thick, oil paraphyses absent. Asci clavate, ca. 65-75 x 12-19 µm. Ascospores 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, ca. 13-17 x 7-11 µm, septum 5-8 µm. Spermogonia solitary in reddish-orange warts; spermatia bacilliform, ca. (3.5-)3.8-4.5(-4.8) x 0.9-1.0 µm.
