Thallus: foliose, tightly adnate, 2-6 cm broad, darkish yellow green; lobes sublinear, 0,2-0,8 mm wide, separate to contiguous, little branched; upper surface continuous, emaculate, shiny, moderately isidiate, the isidia globose,0.08-0,20 in diameter, 0,2-0,3 mm high, the tips epicorticate, pale, erumpent and often bursting open but not becoming sorediate, unbranched; medulla white; lower surface plane, black, shiny, sparsely rhizinate, the rhizines black, simple, 0,2-0,3 mm long. Apothecia unknown. Pycnidia unknown (Hale 1990: 90).

Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Chemistry: Stictic acid (major), norstictic acid, cryptostictic acid, constictic acid, menegazziaic acid, usnic acid (Hale 1990: 90).

Ecology: On acidic rock.
