Type: Australia, West Australia, Kalgoorlie, Day, June 1982 (MEL - holotype).

 

Thallus: tightly adnate to adnate, rather fragile, 2-4 cm broad, dark yellowish green; lobes subirregular to sublinear, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, contiguous to imbricate; upper surface contiguous, emaculate, shiny, moderately isidiate, the isidia short, globose (Figure 14d), 0.1-0.3 mm in diameter. 0.1-0.3 mm high, the tips syncorticate, hollow and erumpent apically, sometimes subsorediate, unbranched; medulla white; lower surface plane, pale brown, moderately rhizinate, the rhizines pale brown, simple, 0.1- 0.3 mm long. Apothecia and pycnidia unknown.

Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Chemistry: Fumarprotocetraric acid, succinprotocetraric acid, protocetraric acid (trace), usnic acid.

Ecology: On rock.
