Type: Australia, S.A., Eyre Highway, 40 km E of Kimba, Filson 11730a (MEL - holotype).

Thallus: vagrant, 2-5 c broad, leathery, usually fragmented into separate lobes, light yellowish green, lobes sublinear, 2-8 mm wide (to 10 mm unrolled), strongly convoluted, separate; upper surface continuous, emaculate, shiny, becoming fissured and rugulose and ultimately eroding with an extensive cover of soredia; medulla white; lower surface plane, pale brown, sparsely rhizinate, the rhizines pale to brown, delicate, simple, 0.3-0.5 mm long. Apothecia unknown. Pycnidia unknown.

Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Chemistry: Salazinic acid, consalazinic acid, usnic acid.

Ecology: free growing on soil.
