Type locality: Australia, Western Australia, Stirling Ranges National Park, Mt. Hassell, date lacking, ca. 740 m, G. Rambold 5384 (M - holotype).

Type locality coordinates: 34°40'44"S, 118°22'11"E; -34.678889°, 118.369722°.

Molecular barcode: Data lacking.

Thallus: very tightly adnate on rock, 1-3 cm in diameter, yellow green but darkening in older lobes; lobes sublinear, 0.2-0.5 mm wide, linear-elongate, dichotomously but sparingly branched, contiguous to stellate or subimbricate; upper surface continuous, emaculate, dull, transversely cracked and appearing areolate in older lobes, soredia and isidia lacking; medulla white; lower surface plane, black except for a brown zone at the tips, sparsely rhizinate, the rhizines black, rudimentary, ~ 0.1 mm long. Pycnidia well developed; conidia elongate-bifusiform, 0.5x7-8 µm. Apothecia common, sessile, 0.5-1 mm in diameter, the margin involute at first, crenulate at maturity; spores 4-6x 7-8 µm.

Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Chemistry: Constictic acid (major), stictic acid (trace), norstictic acid (trace), connorstictic acid (+/- trace), cryptostictic acid (+/-trace), usnic acid, atranorin (+/- trace).

Ecology: On rock.

Distribution Type: Endemic. Known only from the type locality. Data lacking.
