Type: Australia, King Georg Sound, Harris 52 (G - lectotype).
Thallus: foliose, adnate to loosely adnate, brittle, 4-8 cm broad, dull yellowish green; lobes subirregular to sublinear, 1,5-2,5 mm wide, contiguous to imbricate; upper surface continuous to faintly whitemaculate, shiny, moderately to densely isidiate, the isidia cylindrical, thin, 0,04-0,08 mm in diameter, 0,1-0,8 mm high, the tips syncorticate, darkening, mostly unbranched; medulla white; lower surface plane, black, shiny, sparsely to moderately rhizinate, the rhizines black, coarse, 0,3-0,8 mm long. Pycnidia common; conidia cylindrical to bifusiform, 0,5 x 4-6 µm. Apothecia rare, substipitate, 2-6 mm in diameter; spores 5 x 7-9 µm.
Photobiont: Trebouxia.

Ecology: On rock, rarely on wood.
