Thallus: to (30-)49(-87) mm diam., mostly well delimited and regular, yellow to dull orange (shade forms green-grey). Marginal lobe ends at the outermost tips (0.4-)0.74(-1.42) mm wide, at the widest point (0.9-)2.97(-6.0) mm wide, and just inside the widest point (0.6-)1.47(-2.2) mm wide. Marginal lobe tips branched, spathulate to flabellate. Central parts mostly covered with smooth or coarse, peg-like or lobule-like isidia. Upper surface more or less rough, with yellowish crystals (sometimes lacking in herbarium material). Thallus thickness (156-)237(-330) µm. Medulla with hyphae in bundles, lower part often with strongly gelatinized, more conglutinated hyphae. Apothecia mostly absent, but sometimes occur, scattered, up to (1.3-)2.35(-3.7) mm diam., thalline margin smooth to rough to crenulate. Pycnidia rare, immersed to somewhat protruding. Conidia ellipsoid. (Lindblom 2005: 197).
