  4. Erskine, J., Wolfsville, N.S.: - Collected a few specimens on Cape Breton Island (Lamb 1954: 239).

  5. Evans, A. W.: - Some records of Cladonias included in Lamb (1954).

  6. Macoun, John: - Canadian botanist. - Macoun spent the greater part of the summers of 1983 and 1898 in Cape Breton Island. The species are published in his Catalogue of Canadian plants (1902). With the exception of a few which are missing, they are all preserved in the herbarium of the Nation Museum of Canada in Ottawa. His collection from Cape Breton Island comprised slightly over 122 species." (Lammb 1954: 239). "John Macoun spent three months botanizing on Sable island in the summer of 1899. 27 lichens were identified from the island and he sent specimens to various experts including Dr. Eckfeldt in Philadelphia and to Rev. J.S. Deichmann Branth, of Sneptrup, Denmark who identified the crustose species. A small number of specimens from Macoun’s Sable Island collections are in Ottawa, New York and Nebraska."
