6. Lea, Thomas: - Collected the type of Phaeophyscia leana in 1839 and the type of Leptogium corticola. Material in the British Museum, London (BM).

7. Lendemer, James: - Collected the type of Enterographa hutchinsiae in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Material in New York, USA (NY).

8. Riddell, D.: - Collected in Ohio in the year 1833 (Riddell 1834).

9. Showman, Ray E.: - Botanist from Ohio. Working on macrolichens. Collections in the Ohio State University.

10. Taylor, Conan J.: - Reported 178 species from Ohio in the 60's.

11. Tuckerman Workshop 2006: - Voucher specimens were deposited in herbaria at Kent State University (KE), New York Botanical Garden (NY), Ohio State University (OS), the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences (PH) and private collections.
