Collectors of lichens of Ontario (Canada)

  1. Agassiz: - In 1850 Tuckerman reported a number of species collected by Agassiz from "the northern shores of Lake Superior" without specific localities. Many of them may have come from Ontario. His records were cited by Macoun (1902).

  2. Brodo, Ernie: - Amount of collections presently unknown. Material in Canadian National Museum and New York, USA (NY).

  3. Cain, R. F.: - "In the herbarium of the University of Toronto there is a considerable collection of Ontario lichens, largely collected by Dr. R. F. Cain." (Ahti 1964).

  4. Dupret: - Mentioned in Gyelnik (1932: 39).

  5. Feuerer, Tassilo: - German lichenologist. Collections from 2002 in Hamburg, Germany (HBG).

  6. Macoun, J. M.: - Collected a number of specimens from the north coast of Lake Superior and around Lake Nipigon in the years 1869, 1872, and 1884 (Macoun 1892, preface). Most specimens are deposited in the herbarium of the National Museum of Canada in Ottawa.
