  100. Erichsen, C. F. E. (18.10.1867 - 25.7.1945): Primary school teacher (Volksschullehrer) in Hamburg. His complete collections have been bought by the Herbarium Hamburgense (HBG) in August 1945 and form the nucleus of the Hamburg lichen herbarium. His library including letters to collegues has been bought by O. Almborn and are now kept in Lund (LD). Christiansen (1928) gives some information on his biography. An extensive orbituary originates from MATTICK (1946, in ERICHSEN 1957: XII). His address at that time was Baumkamp 16, Hamburg 39. This street does not exist any more, it corresponds presumably with the quarter Winterhude. Until about 1900 Erichsen collected mainly phanerogams in the vicinity of Hamburg, later (from 1902 till 27.9.1944) almost exclusivly lichens. Now and then Erichsen undertook excursions together with various botanists in Schleswig-Holstein, for instance the 27.4.1902, the 4.5.1902 and the 14.12.1902 with O.Jaap. He carried out collecting trips (chronologically) to Poland (at that time Germany, mountain Große Schneegrube Riesengebirge, Schlesien, 1.8.1907, 2.8.1907), to Hohen Rad (1.8.1907), to Kullen in Sweden (28.7./8.8.1911 and 5.7.1933 were he collected together with G. Malme, to Denmark (at that time partly Germany, Apenrade 15./18.9.1913, Island Fünen 7.7.1925), to Bavaria (Mittenwald 1927), to Austria (Vienna 13.7.1927, Innsbruck 29.7.1927), to Slowakia (21.7.1927 together with Suza), to Bohuslän in Schweden (10.7.1928), to the Harz (29.6.1930), to Finland (3./4./28/30.6.1933), to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Rügen 30.8.1939) and to Czechia (at that time Germany, 23.7.1940 together with Kutak).
